Dahsour was a part of the Memphite old city necropolis which was in the time of the first King of fourth dynasty Snfru . He constructed two Pyramids; one called the "bent pyramid" because of its angle reducing, and the other called the red pyramid, and by the Middle Kingdom age the three kings from 12th dynasty reused the site again to construct their own pyramids, they are Amenenhat II, Amenamhet III and senwosret III.

the Giza site may boast Cairo’s most spectacular pyramids, but if you’re looking to get away from the crowds, head 45 minutes south for an intimate morning with Dahshour’s two pyramids.

When you first arrive at the site, your eye will immediately be drawn to the hulking structure of Sneferu’s Bent Pyramid, so named because the angle of the pyramid changes halfway up the structure. Historians believe that pyramid architects erred by planning a pyramid so massive, its base wouldn’t be able to support the whole structure.

Mid-way through construction, the story goes, architects realized their error and softened the angle to reduce the building’s final size.

The Black Pyramid was built by King Amenemhat III during the Middle Kingdom of Egypt. It is one of the five remaining pyramids of the original eleven pyramids at Dahshur in Egypt.

the pyramid named as "Black Pyramid" for its dark, decaying appearance as a rubble mound.

The Bent Pyramid was built under the Old Kingdom Pharaoh Sneferu. A unique example of early pyramid development in Egypt, this was the second pyramid built by Sneferu, dates back to 2600 BC.

The Red Pyramid, also called the north Pyramid.

It is the largest of the three major pyramids located at the Dahshur necropolis in Cairo, Egypt. Named for the rusty reddish hue of its red limestone stones, it is also considered as the third largest Egyptian pyramid.
