Discover Egypt’s captivating pharaonic history through an exciting tour across the country over river and rail. This cheaper alternative to our popular Egypt by Air tour features the same activities, but you’ll do some traveling via sleeper train instead of taking domestic flights. You’ll visit the Great Pyramids and witness the astounding beauty of the last remaining of the original seven wonders of the ancient world. After exploring the majesty of Cairo’s past and present, you’ll board a sleeper train headed southward to Aswan. A luxury cruise ship awaits you, and you’ll witness the monuments and natural beauty of southern Egypt in style. Spend three days sailing and sightseeing between Aswan and Luxor before heading back to Cairo via train.

Note: 

Egyptian trains are designed and maintained according to standards of quality determined by the Egyptian Railway Authority.

The sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan takes about 14 hours, and the journey from Luxor to Cairo takes about 11 hours.

To reduce time spent traveling, you can upgrade your trip package for about $135 per person to travel by domestic flight instead (about 1.5 hours).

Day 1:

Arrival in Cairo - Welcome to the Land of the Pharaohs

Your tour manager will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport (Arrival procedures) and will then escort you to your hotel in an air-conditioned deluxe vehicle.

At the hotel, your tour manager will assist you with a smooth check-in and review your budget vacation itinerary with you to establish and confirm pick-up times for each tour.

Welcome drink included,Overnight in Cairo.


Day 2:

Pyramids and Cairo Sightseeing - Train to Aswan

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Cairo before checking out, then your personal tour guide will accompany you to Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world: the Great Pyramids of CheopsChefren, and Mykerinus, along with the famous Sphinx and Valley Temple.

Then, head out to the Egyptian Museum where the treasures of the boy king Tutankhamen await you.

Continue to Islamic Cairo, where you will be able to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest and most alluring bazaar.

Later, you will be transferred to the gorgeous Giza train station to catch the sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan.

Dinner and breakfast will be served on board. Overnight accommodations inside your compartment.

Day 3:

Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

Upon your arrival at the Aswan train station, you will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours representative, who will then transfer you to your Nile River cruise ship.

Enjoy lunch on board, after which you will be guided to visit the famous High Dam, majestic Philae temple of devotion to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor, and the massive Unfinished Obelisk, still resting on its side in the stone quarries of ancient Egypt.

Then, back to the cruise ship with dinner on board and overnight in Aswan.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.


Day 4:

Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples

After breakfast on board, you’ll sail to Kom Ombo, where you’ll encounter the twin temple of Kom Ombo, where you’ll learn about the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, whose monuments decorate each half of the temple.

You’ll have your lunch back on board the ship and sail on to Edfu, where you’ll stop to visit the Temple of Edfu, the best-preserved temple of the ancient world.

The structure is dedicated to Horus, the falcon god.

Reboard the ship for afternoon tea and a leisurely ride to Esna. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 5:

Luxor Nile Cruise Tours

In the early morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast on board as you sail to Luxor.

You’ll then set out to visit the West Bank of Luxor, take an excursion to the Royal Cemetery for 62 Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, then to mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by the architects of the New Kingdom during the 15th century BCE at Deir El-Bahari.

You’ll proceed to the towering Colossi of Memnon, and then back to the Nile cruise ship and have lunch aboard.

As the ship makes its way up the Nile, you’ll enjoy afternoon tea. Dinner on board and overnight in Luxor.

Day 6:

Luxor Nile Cruise - Train to Cairo

Breakfast aboard the cruise before disembarkation, and then you will be accompanied by your tour guide to the ancient Karnak and Luxor temples along the east bank of Luxor.

Later, you’ll head to the Luxor train station to catch the sleeper train back to Cairo.

Dinner will be served aboard the train. Overnight in your private compartment.

Day 7:

Cairo Optional Excursions

Breakfast aboard the sleeper train before arriving at the Giza train station, where you will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours representative who will transfer you to your hotel for some leisure time (you will check into your room as early as possible).

There are some optional excursions available in Cairo: you may wish to visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser in Sakkara and Memphis.

Overnight stay at your hotel in Cairo.

Day 8:

Cairo - Fly Back Home

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, with some free time before your flight.

After check out, you’ll be escorted to Cairo International Airport for final departure.

  The pricing policy

 

-The currency is set to USD but you can pay in Euro or British pound.

-The prices quoted per person per tour all-inclusive and prices are always updated to offer you the low cost possible. 

-Once your tour is confirmed we guarantee the price will not be changed.

Children Policy:


-The child up to 2 years old Free of Charge

-The child from 2 to 5.99 years old will be charged only 25% of the adult price.

-the child from 6 to 11.99 years old will be charged only 50% of the adult price.

-the child from 12 years old and above will be charged as an adult person.

Notes :

  • Child pricing applies to children who share rooms with their parents.

  • If your tour includes airfare, additional charges for your children may apply.


     

    Payment Policy

    • Reservations should be made as early as possible to book the desired holiday. 

      Space on a given tour will be secured upon receipt a deposit of 25% of the full price.

      This payment will be 50% during the Christmas and New Year holidays and on packages including airfare. 

      This deposit counts as part of your final payment. Deposits can be made by bank wire transfer or sent via Western Union or paid using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

      Payment should be received within 7 days of booking.

     

    Tipping

    • Tipping for a job well done is customary in Egypt, though not required. 

      Please feel welcomed but not obliged to offer a tip to your guide.


      Cancellation Policy:


      cairo4hotels.com does not charge a cancellation fee for tours and excursions canceled for (force majeure) reasons such as volcanoes, earthquakes, or reasons beyond control.

      -If cancellation happens due to personal or business reasons and cairo4hotels.com has already incurred costs on your behalf, so these costs will be charged to you.
